Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable Yarn Review

Red Heart recently released some new colorways of the intoxicating, self-striping yarn, Boutique Unforgettable. I’ve been using Unforgettable for several years now and have loved the long colorways, the soft single-ply fiber, and the custom-dyed look, all at a fraction of the price. I have used Unforgettable in many scarves, and also some amazing hats. I feel like my crochet speed slows down significantly when I am using this yarn because I stop so frequently to admire the changing colors. I have tried every colorway available and have never been disappointed. Here are a couple of finished projects with various colorways.

So when I saw some new colors this year, I had to get my hands on them. First I tried “Stained Glass”, which was named perfectly. It has also the vibrant colors that you would expect to see on a stained glass window. And just like a gorgeous stained glass window, your project will turn into a work of art. This colorway emits such bright, bold colors. It is sure to make you smile. I had previously made the Tulip Triangle Scarf by Em’s Corner with a DK weight solid cream color but when I made it with this colorway, it really brought out the stitch pattern and highlighted the gorgeous colors. It completely changed the look of the pattern. 20160816-dsc_0086 20161008-dsc_0342 20161102-dsc_0017

I also got to try “Tealberry”. This colorway has a different feel to it. It is a blend of rich shades of turquoise, maroon, purple, and neutrals. It reminds me of walking on a trail out in nature. There are long stripes of brown, beige, and tan with an intermittent stripe of turquoise or purple. The colors are rich but more subdued. Stained Glass has a lot of contrast but Tealberry, not so much. My favorite stripe in the skein starts with deep maroon and then it slowly lightens into mauve, light pink, and then off-white.

If you have never used Unforgettable, make sure to pick up a skein soon. It is a worsted weight 100% acrylic self-striping yarn and each 3.5 oz skein yields 270 yards. It is also machine washable and dryable.
