The Puffy Lace Shawl was designed by the lovely Natalia Johnson of Natali’s Crochet for the June issue of Happily Hooked Magazine – and friends, it’s a stunner! Natalia designed the shawl with the most beautiful and intricate stitches, while keeping the design easy and fun to crochet. Take a look at the one I made!
I walked around Michael’s Craft Store, looking around for the perfect yarn to create this piece, and when my eyes rested on Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball on the shelves, I knew immediately that’s the yarn I wanted to use.
It had different tones of grey, but with a beautiful rainbow, metallic thread throughout the yarn. Perfect! Unique, but not too flashy. I picked up a few of them to go home and begin my crochet along project.
I absolutely love the way it turned out, the four row repeat was a bit tricky to memorize, but once I did, it was smooth sailing! I made my shawl a little bit larger than the recommended row size, only because I have very long arms, and wanted something that would really cover me up and keep me cozy.
And voila! She’s done! I’m so excited about it! What’s your favourite way to style a shawl, do you wear it across your shoulders? Or like a cowl scarf? Let me know in the comments, and be sure to check out this beautiful pattern!
